The
Second COSI Industrial Advisory Board Meeting and the First COSI
Retreat, was held together on March 25 and 26 in Breckenridge, CO.
One more COSI Trainee graduated. On Tuesday February 7 2012, COSI Fellow Sean Quirin
successfully defended his PhD thesis: "Quantitative Optical Imaging and
Sensing by Joint Design of Point Spread Functions and Estimation
Algorithms". Margaret Murnane, a Distinguished Professor at the Physics Department and one of the COSI-IEGRT co-PI, has been chosen by President Obama to be
chairwoman of the President’s Committee on the National Medal of
